Lauren M. Nelson, JD, MBA

Ms. Nelson is a native Houstonian who has represented healthcare providers throughout her career. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and minor in Corporate Communications from Baylor University, she returned to Houston and earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston. While practicing full-time, Ms. Nelson returned to school and obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University.

Ms. Nelson has a successful litigation practice in which she defends several large healthcare clients across Texas. She focuses on medical malpractice defense litigation and advising clients on risk management, quality assurance and health law issues including HIPAA/HITECH compliance. She also represents healthcare clients before the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing. In addition to defending healthcare providers, Ms. Nelson helps individuals and entities create corporations and start businesses. She also uses her background in information systems to help entrepreneurs in medical and biotechnology startups.

When she takes a break from work, Ms. Nelson enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the coast, biking, gardening and fishing the Texas bays.
